Tokyo is so unbearably hot right now that we decided to make the most of the long weekend and get out of the city.
Somewhere cool and green was the order of the day, so we headed to the lakes of Mt Fuji.

東京は信じられないほど暑いし、せっかくの3連休だから、街を離れたいと思いました。
緑が多くて、涼しいところがいいと思って、富士五湖に行って来ました。

We visited three of the five lakes: Kawaguchi, Motosu and Shojin in search of a great view of Mt Fuji.
After a quick stop at Lake Kawaguchi, we headed to Lake Motosu - the famous view of Mt Fuji featured on the 1000yen bill. We were hoping for the same view, but alas, clouds got in the way, so instead we drove around the lake and soaked up the beautiful scenery.

富士五湖の河口湖、本栖湖、精進湖をまわりました。
河口湖で一時休憩してから、千円札で有名な景色が見られる本栖湖に行きました。
富士山の景色を見たかったのですが、残念ながら雲で隠れていたので、
湖を回って、素敵な景色をチェックしました。

Mt Fuji finally showed us its face at Lake Shojin, with just a glimpse of its snow-covered peak....yay!

精進湖でやっと富士山が見えて。。。良かった！

On the way home we came across this mysterious love letter in the mountains and were wondering what it's for, and who it is to?
Does anyone know what it is....?

途中の山道でこんなラブレターを発見しました。

誰が誰に宛てたラブレターなのか...もの凄く気になりました。
どなたかご存知の方は教えて下さい。
