One thing I really miss about Australia is going out for a delicious brunch on the weekend.
Cafes throughout Sydney are packed indoors and out with people relaxing, enjoying their morning coffee, reading the newspapers and catching up with friends. A brunch staple is scrambled eggs on toast - something that is so difficult to come by in Tokyo!
One of the most famous brunch institutions in Sydney is Bills, a cafe owned by renowned chef Bill Granger. His cafes are famous for their great brunch menu, and of course for his fluffy, light scrambled eggs.

オーストラリアではおいしいブランチを食べに行く習慣があるのですが、日本はあまりなくて、残念だなと思っています。

週末になると、シドニーのカフェのインドア、アウトドアテーブルが満席で、皆がリラックスしながら、コーヒーを飲んだり、新聞を読んだり、友達とのおしゃべりを楽しんでいます。

ブランチといえば、スクランブルエッグが定番ですが、なかなか東京ではおいしいのがないですね。

シドニーの人たちに愛されているカフェが「Bills」です。
オーナーが有名なシェフのBill Grangerで、彼のカフェのおいしいブランチメニューが有名です。。。

特にライトでフワフワのスクランブルエッグ！

I have been meaning to check out the Shichirigahama branch of Bills for ages, and recently headed to Kamakura for my scambled egg fix!
Not exactly a stroll down to the neighbourhood cafe (as you would in Sydney), but worth the trip!

ずっと前から鎌倉の七里ケ浜にあるBillsのカフェをチェックしようと思っていましたが、
やっと先日スクランブルエッグを食べに行けた！

シドニーみたいに散歩で行ける距離ではないですが、遠くても食べに行きたい！ と思いました。

Bills is located right on the ocean, and is spacious and cosy.
Warm wood floors, mix-and-match furniture and big windows overlooking the sea make it a great place to relax on a weekend.
I had scrambled eggs (of course!), while my friend had the wagyu burger. The eggs were just as I remembered...so fluffy! I just wish there had been the choice of rye for the bread.... The wagyu burger was small but tasty, and the fries were deliciously seasoned.
The highlight of the meal however, was the scones. I make scones all the time, and love them so much, but it's really hard to get a good English/ Australian scone here...they are all American style (i.e. hard and crumbly, a bit like a cookie).

Billsは海のすぐそばで、とても広くて、コージーな空間です。

暖かい感じのウッドフロア、ミックス家具、海に向かって大きな窓があるから、週末のゆったりした時間を過ごすにはバッチリ。

私はもちろんスクランブルエッグにしました（絶対！）で、ランチの相手は和牛バーガーをオーダー。スクランブルエッグはオーストラリアで食べたものと一緒で、大喜び！ ライ麦パンが選べればもっといいな〜とお思いましたけど。。。

和牛バーガーはオーストラリアサイズより小さかったですが、味はおいしかった。
フライドポテトの味もとてもおいしかったです。

でも一番うれしかったのは食後のスコーン。

日本ではイギリス／オーストラリア風のスコーンはなかなか見つけられないから、うちでよく作ります。日本では、アメリカンスタイルのハードなスコーンしかないです。

Billsのスコーンは柔らかくて、フワフワで、本物でした！

ジャムとクリームとを合わせて食べられるのは天国でした！
